Trivium Corporate Center is a 378-acre Class A business park, located between Robinwood Road and Startown Road, which is being jointly developed by the City of Hickory and Catawba County, and marketed by the Catawba County Economic Development Corporation (EDC).
Formerly known as Park 1764, Trivium Corporate Center is zoned for office and light industrial, and will be marketed by the EDC as an ideal location for corporate headquarters and advanced manufacturing due to its convenient location. The name, Trivium Corporate Center, was selected to convey the industrial park’s modern facilities and advanced capabilities. The Latin word trivium means “the place where three roads meet,” which reflects the location of the Corporate Center at the intersection of I-40, U.S. 70, and U.S. 321, as well as its approved strapline, “Making. Working. Better.”
Trivium Corporate Center is a joint development of the City of Hickory and Catawba County, as one of the four City of Hickory bond projects. The City allocated $4.5 million of the bond funds to Trivium Corporate Center. The City of Hickory and Catawba County entered into an agreement on March 21, 2016, to equally cover the cost of development. By providing the necessary infrastructure, the EDC’s marketing efforts will be enhanced and Trivium Corporate Center will be more attractive to prospective businesses.
An official groundbreaking ceremony was held on May 16, 2018, to celebrate the start of construction for Trivium Corporate Center. The historic groundbreaking also marked the beginning of construction on the first of four City of Hickory bond projects.
In a special meeting on June 9, 2021, Hickory City Council approved budgeting City and County revenues for Trivium’s purchase of approximately 108 acres of land to the east of Startown Road. The Trivium Board approved this property acquisition to expand the successful 270-acre Trivium Corporate Center business park for further industrial development. The total purchase price of $2,698,000 was shared equally by the City of Hickory and Catawba County.
