Rodney Miller, a lifelong Hickory resident, brings expertise in governmental accounting and finance. He served as the City of Hickory’s Assistant Finance Director for six years before becoming Finance Director for Catawba County in 2001, a role he held for 14 years. In June 2015, Miller returned to the City of Hickory as Assistant City Manager and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He now serves as Deputy City Manager and CFO.  

Miller earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from NC State University. He is an ICMA Credentialed Manager and a Certified Local Government Finance Officer in North Carolina.
