Hickory City Council has 13 advisory groups, each serving a distinct purpose. These groups focus on initiatives such as increasing recycling rates, planning for the future of parks and recreation, supporting economic development, and administering beautification grants. All groups are made up of citizens from different wards and/or diverse backgrounds. Most people serve between three and six years, with terms ending in June.
